Tattooed Jesus by Lisa Del Toro takes a devotional portrait and runs it through the language of tattoo painting. Christ fills the frame with an upward gaze and clasped hands, but the piece does not read like church art polished smooth. It has the weight, color, and directness of painted flash.

The main image centers on Jesus crowned not only with thorns but with a ring of swallows, their wings and tails pushing outward around his head like a living halo. At the bottom, pink roses build a dense floral base that softens the portrait while also grounding it in familiar tattoo imagery. Across the chest, a sacred heart tattoo adds another layer, turning the body into part of the iconography rather than just the surface carrying it.
